Experience with IBM MQ Advanced RDQM required. Should have very strong troubleshooting unexpected IBM MQ and Solace problems Experience of architecting, designing and administration of Solace Experience of scripting for deployment and configuration Experience with DevOps and automation required Must have Ansible automation skills required Prior Java programming skill is a plus Knowledge of Kafka messaging system is a plus. Key Responsibilities: Northern Trust Enterprise Middleware Service team is looking for a lead messaging system engineer to help build out, maintain, and troubleshoot the bank's rapidly expanding IBM MQ and Solace messaging infrastructure. Manage all environments (Development, Testing and Production) of IBM MQ/solace Install, configure and provide support for functional and performance testing of additional features of modern messaging system. Work with application developers in POCs to design solutions with novel and advanced product features Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability by monitoring and testing application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes Design and maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies Design of expansion of current cluster and integration of existing cluster with cloud Architect the roadmap for messaging systems in the bank Provide 3rd level support and act as a technical leader of offshore support team Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution
