The general stability of the vessel and as such responsible for the registration of all deck loads and additional weights
The evaluation of the Bridge crew under his/her supervision
The coordination of all deck, crane, helicopter, and supply boat operations during his/her watch (While project operations are in progress, the above shall be done in close consultation with the OCM / Superintendent and/or Deck Foreman)
Ensuring the quantity and quality of potable water
Ensuring compliance with and relevant revisions of ship-specific manuals under the responsibility of the bridge
Planned Maintenance (PM), including spare parts inventory, for deck and hotel equipment when not covered specifically by the engineering department. PM activities and results must be reported to the Chief Engineer and entered into the NS PM Platform accordingly
Maintaining logbooks, setting watches, assigning jobs, and monitoring bridge activities while on his/her watch
Requisitioning of supplies and services necessary for the safe and efficient operations of the vessel including McDermott HSE materials
Acting as the vessel's Response Coordinator with reference to the Shipboard Oil Pollution Emergency Plan (SOPEP)
Acting as primary Vessel Security Officer; maintaining the Ship Security Plan, conducting security drills/exercises, and ensuring the applicable precautions are followed for the current MARSEC Level.
Completion, issuance, and maintenance of McDermott HSE-related reports and documents i.e., statistics, inspection reports, and meeting minutes.
Led all incident investigations, in liaison with the Project HSE Technician, Marine HSES Manager, and other members of the investigation team. The investigation lead responsible may be delegated as appropriate

Qualifications:Essential Qualifications and Education:

Navigational Mate Certificate of Competency attained through experience (accrued sea time) and formal education resulting in a Bachelor of Nautical Sciences (or equivalent) issued by an approved and recognized institution
360 Days Sea Time documented as OICNW of which 180 days must be as OICNW on vessels engaged in offshore construction operations
STCW95 Reg:
II/2 - Chief Officer
VI/I Basic Training
VI/2 Survival Craft and Rescue Boats other than FRB
VI/3 Advanced Fire Fighting
VI/5 - Ship Security Officer
Valid Medical Certificate of Fitness
Nautical Institute DP Operator's Certificate (for DP Vessels)
Internal Auditor
Navigational Mate Certificate of Competency attained through experience (accrued sea time) and formal education resulting in a Bachelor of Nautical Sciences (or equivalent) issued by an approved and recognized institution
