The SMRE BizOps team is seeking an engineer to strengthen ITSM practices with a dedicated focus on Change Management. You’ll ensure production readiness, drive operational excellence, and partner with development, operations, and product teams to deliver resilient, scalable, and highly available systems. The role emphasizes governance, compliance, and risk management, while embedding automation and efficiency into change processes.
Change Assessment & Approval
Role
Review Change Requests (CRQs) per ICRB guidelines.Validate alignment with policies, minimize risk, and secure stakeholder approvals.Change Planning & ImplementationMonitor for overlapping activities/migrations and advise teams to prevent conflicts.Coordinate execution and documentation to minimize business disruption.Change Review & ClosureConduct post-implementation reviews, gather feedback, and capture lessons learned.Complete all documentation and formally close changes.Key Meetings & CallsRepresent applications in ICRB and “Yellow List” change discussions.Participate in sync-ups, handovers, and weekend change calls to ensure readiness.Stakeholder Coordination & CommunicationPartner with stakeholders to assess risks and impacts of proposed changes.Send SEM (Service Event Management) communications for major events (e.g., DR, releases, outages).SLO & Compliance MonitoringTrack Mastercard’s 2025 ITSM Change ObjectivesMonitor CRQs on a daily, weekly, and monthly cadence to ensure targets are met.Remedy Templates & SupportCreate, maintain, and update Remedy Templates and Support Groups as needed.Broader ITSM ActivitiesSupport incident, problem, and risk management processes.Provide feedback to development teams on resiliency and operational gaps.Lead incident response and blameless postmortems to strengthen reliability.What We’re Looking ForBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.Proven expertise in ITSM, with strong focus on Change Management.Proficiency in Java or Python for automation, scripting, and debugging.Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.Analytical problem solver with ownership, urgency, and attention to detail.Corporate Security ResponsibilityAll activities involving access to Mastercard assets, information, and networks comes with an inherent risk to the organization and, therefore, it is expected that every person working for, or on behalf of, Mastercard is responsible for information security and must:Abide by Mastercard’s security policies and practices;Ensure the confidentiality and integrity of the information being accessed;Report any suspected information security violation or breach, andComplete all periodic mandatory security trainings in accordance with Mastercard’s guidelines.
