The Avionics Software department of Airbus India owns the conception, development, production andsupport of some of the critical systems on the Airbus aircrafts. Its mission is also to be the Airbus refer-
ence and the primary expertise source as far as equipment development and concerned issues.The development teams are structured by technical domains, and this position is included in the Quality
Function interacting with the Avionics Software & System Testing department at Airbus.
Main responsibilities:
The jobholder is responsible for:
Performing the quality assurance and the quality controls (technical sampling of the avionics
software deliverables) in compliance with the DO-178B/ED-12 objectives.
Providing technical support for process, methods and tools of Avionics Software teams.
EASA certification of Avionics Software.
Continuous improvements on processes
Main activities:
The Software Methods and Quality Engineer main activities include: Ensuring the efficiency and adequacy of the development methods in particular to comply with certi-
fication objectives Providing support to the development teams for methods and tools use
Proposing improvements
Verifying the consistency, the completeness and accuracy of the quality documents of the software
Maintaining and updating the Plan for Software Aspects of Certification (PSAC)
Ensuring conformity of the Software Quality Assurance Plan (SQAP) specially the list of applicable
rules for software projects
Performing the internal reviews to prepare the external reviews done by EASA Verifying the correctness of methods and rules application by performing quality control of docu-
ments, source code files, test files or all other relevant life cycle data produced by the developmentteam, either by samples or exhaustively in compliance with the SQAP
Approving the software documents in compliance with the applicable plans and certification rules
Performing root cause analysis for software anomalies in order to improve development methods
Ensuring consistency, completeness and accuracy of the certification records
Approve the project documents in compliance with the applicable plans
Verify the configuration management of the product life cycle data
The Software Methods and Quality Engineer will work in close relationship with the Quality Manager,
Software Manager and Development team, Certification Authorities, Methods Specialists, Software Method
