Job Description:I. JOB DETAILSJob TitleBiomedical EngineerReporting SupervisorHODII. JOB PURPOSEEnsure maintenance of all medical equipments in an efficient and cost effective way and make technical appraisal and recommendation for purchase of new equipments.III. KEY RESPONSIBILITIESCore Responsibilities –

To Provide technical assistance and training to personnel from the facility in maintenance and use of medical equipment.
To coordinate and evaluate the work performed by service contractors including maintenance, calibration, installation and verification of service documentation.
To plan & scheduling of plan for preventive maintenance.
To repair, maintain & collaboration of medical equipments.
To audit all processes related to the delivery of medical gases.
To ensure maintaining of optimum stock of spares to reduce breakdown.
To provide training for related facility staff on maintenance and utilization of equipments.
To execute monthly schedule of plan preventive maintenance.
To maintain professional development through attending seminars, workshops.
To have complete orientation of QMS and EMS system of Hospital.
To have complete Awareness about Disaster Management Programme (DMP) of the hospital.
To Comply with the service quality Process, environmental & occupational issues & policies of the respective area
To Comply with patient safety policy
To ensure safe utilization of equipments and proper waste disposal system.

IV. KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORSMeasurable Deliverables

Ensures 90 % uptime for all medical equipments and 100 % uptime of medical gases.
Downtime not more than 72 hours except major breakdown.
Provides critical inputs which help decision making for procurement of various medical equipments/ facilitates in claims processing.
Optimal stocking of spares to a level below 3 % of capital cost of equipment.

V. JOB REQUIREMENTSMinimum Qualifications

• Diploma/B.Tech (Biomedical Engineering)

Experience

Knowledge on latest medical equipment.
4+ yrs experience on hospital environment or related to various medical equipment supplier.

Technical Skills

· Preventive maintenance procedure.
· Knowledge of latest technology medical equipments.
· Operational familiarity with all medical equipment.

Behavioural Skills

Preventive Maintenance Monitoring.
Communication Skills.
Planning and Organizing.
