Lead the design and development of door systems for transit applications.
Manage the full product lifecycle including engineering change board activities, 3D modeling and drawing creation using Creo and Teamcenter.
Handle obsolescence management and spare parts planning for door and access products.

Responsibilities

Interpret existing designs and propose alternatives for obsolescence and spare part needs.
Apply GD&T and perform stack-up analysis.
Lead engineering change requests for product improvements.
Define weld specifications per BS EN 15085 and BS EN ISO 2553.
Design sheet metal and mechanical parts using Creo.
Generate and manage BOMs.
Conduct requirement analysis and develop technical specifications.
Propose and select optimal design concepts for detailed engineering.
Perform detailed design including DFX, DFMEA, engineering calculations, material selection, and manufacturability studies.
Design and select hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical actuation mechanisms.
Prepare validation specifications, manufacturing, assembly, and service instructions.
Track and report project metrics including design reviews, quality, schedule, and cost.
Promote a culture of speed, simplification, collaboration, and innovation.
Communicate project status and deliverables effectively to stakeholders.
Collaborate with global engineering teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
Ensure projects meet budget, operational, and quality standards.

Minimum Qualifications / Professional Experience

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Mechanical, Automotive, or STEM disciplines.
8+ years of experience in door system design for trains, automotive, aerospace, or similar industries.
Expertise in kinematic design, conveyor belts, actuators, robotics, and motor selection.
Strong understanding of manufacturing methods and processes
