Position Summary:The Factory Director oversees end-to-end manufacturing operations of the jewellery production facility. This role ensures timely production, high-quality standards, workforce efficiency, cost optimization, and compliance with safety and industry regulations. The Factory Director works closely with design, merchandising, supply chain, and quality control teams to ensure smooth operations and delivery of world-class jewellery products.Key Responsibilities:1. Production & Operations ManagementLead daily factory operations, ensuring smooth workflow across casting, setting, polishing, and finishing departments.
Develop and implement production schedules to meet sales, export, and custom order requirements.
Monitor production efficiency, minimize wastage, and optimize resource utilization.2. Quality Control & StandardsEnsure strict adherence to quality benchmarks for gold, diamond, and gemstone jewellery.
Oversee hallmarking, certifications, and compliance with BIS and international standards.
Collaborate with QC teams to resolve quality issues and customer feedback.3. Workforce & Team ManagementManage and supervise artisans, craftsmen, supervisors, and support staff.
Train, mentor, and upskill the workforce in new techniques and technologies (CAD, 3D printing, laser cutting).
Maintain discipline, productivity, and a safe work environment.4. Cost & Resource ManagementControl production costs, raw material wastage, and operational overheads.
Ensure proper inventory management of gold, diamonds, gemstones, and consumables.
Coordinate with procurement and finance teams for resource planning.5. Compliance & SafetyEnsure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations within the factory.
Implement SOPs for secure handling of precious metals and stones.
Ensure compliance with labor laws, ethical sourcing, and sustainability practices.6. Strategic Planning & ReportingSupport senior management in long-term production planning and capacity expansion.
Provide regular reports on production, manpower, and efficiency metrics.
Identify opportunities for process automation, technology adoption, and innovation.Key Skills & Competencies:Strong leadership and people management skills.
In-depth knowledge of jewellery manufacturing processes.
Experience in production planning, workflow optimization, and quality control.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making ability.
Financial acumen for cost control and budgeting.
Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.Educational & Experience Requirements:Graduate/Postgraduate in Manufacturing/Engineering/Business Administration (preferred).
12–18 years of experience in jewellery manufacturing, with at least 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
Proven expertise in managing large-scale jewellery factories/workshops.
Experience in both traditional handcrafting and modern jewellery production technologies.
