Engineer - Structural Substation

• Lead the design of steel and/or concrete projects and lead larger multi-discipline teams, primarily transmission and distribution substations.
• Participate in developing integrated engineering processes and procedures in collaboration with other design offices
• Preparation of project specifications for material and equipment purchase and installation.
• Preliminary and detailed civil/structural design of electrical substation facilities including foundations, gantry and other structures.
• Preliminary and detailed civil/structural design engineering for renewable energy and battery storage electrical collection systems
• Preliminary and detailed civil/structrual design engineering for transmission and "gen tie" lines
• Develop quantity take-offs, engineering cost estimates for Energy projects.
• Meet with clients, prepare proposals, network with Utilities and Developers for Business Development
• Work with the Office Manager and contribute to the overall business development of the office
• Organize in-house resources, develop project proposals and budgets, mentor junior staff, and manage the preparation of technical reports/drawings/specifications.
• Communicate with clients and regulators, establish goals and objectives for project teams, and schedule and coordinate resources to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the performance expectations of the client.
• Perform safety inspections and prepare reports in conformance with state or federal regulatory guidelines.
• Review and supervise design calculations, modeling studies, drawings, reports, and project standards and specifications.
• Assist in proposal development, manage, execute and provide technical support on a variety of power-related as well as interdisciplinary projects.
• Apply regulatory knowledge with FERC, USACE, FEMA, USBR, and other local, state and federal agencies and regulators.
• The candidate must be willing to participate in domestic and international travel, when necessary.
