It powers many devices across the globe such as game console controllers, baby monitors, flashlights, smoke detectors, and toys such as the Monster Jam RC trucks.Role - Senior Database SpecialistLocation - RemoteShift - US/Europe - FlexibleAbout role - The Senior Database Specialist designs and manages database technologies for key systems.They provide technical leadership across the IT organization, which includes strategic decision-making to project planning, and maintain databases and tools as well. In addition, they are responsible for overall database health, while managing tools and processes to ensure overall reliability, availability, recoverability, and security of company databases. The role reports to the Director of Global Infrastructure and R&D Development. Also, this role requires a person who have a deep understanding of various database technologies.Skills required -

Excellent Database management skills in SQL
Proficient Database Management skills in Oracle.
Knowledge of MongoDB, Progress, MySQL is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Sharp attention to detail
Good organization, time management, and prioritization
Efficient troubleshooting abilities
Effective communication skills, including speaking, writing and active listening.
Proactive engagement as it concerns Database Mangement

Responsibilities -

Provides strategic direction for the database architecture and systems, including upgrades.
Provides database design and support for application and infrastructure projects.
Provides technical leadership to ensure successful management of projects throughout the development life cycle and timely delivery of enhancements.
Manages and maintains the databases to ensure availability and performance standards are met.
Plans for future growth of systems and recommend improvements.
Keeps Team updated on all new requests and work involving joint efforts with other teams.
Ensures all Database systems are properly monitored, and necessary alerting is properly configured.
Provides on call support required to bring production systems to operational states.
Diagnosis and troubleshooting activities to resolve technical problems that occur.
Performs expansion, relocation, and consolidation of Database systems for all corporate locations.
Develops and maintains detailed systems documentation.
Responds to P1/P2 issues to help troubleshoot and resolve DBA related outages and problems.
Maintains system backups/restores using Veeam and Azure Backups.
Maintains/Tests Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity Plan.
Provides root cause analysis for outages and delivers SOPs.
Performs other related duties and projects as business needs require at direction of management.
