Inviting applications for the role of Assistant Manager – Data Scientist
In this role, the person is responsible for developing and implementing marketing models and algorithms, extracting insights from textual data, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver AI solutions.
Responsibilities
Model Maintenance and Quality Assurance

Supporting the build, automation and maintenance of a suite of analytical and machine learning models to help drive the growth and retention objectives of AMP’s Bank, Platforms and Superannuation businesses
Monitoring Model Performance: Continuously tracking the performance of deployed models to detect any decline in accuracy or other metrics.
Handling Data Drift: Identifying and addressing changes in the data distribution that can affect model performance.
Retraining Models: In conjunction with onshore data scientists and where appropriate, retrain models with new data to maintain their accuracy and relevance.
Optimizing Models: Making adjustments to improve model efficiency and effectiveness.
Detecting and Fixing Degradation: Identifying and resolving issues that cause models to degrade over time.
Providing timely updates and reports on the status of ongoing maintenance activities and model performance.

Data, Insights and AnalyticsAlthough the primary focus of the role will be model maintenance, this role may be required to support broader data and insights activities that will ultimately guide decision making, including engagement triggers, campaigns and leads as part of one-off or always-on customer. These activities may include:

Assisting team members with data extraction, cleaning and preparation tasks
Analyzing data and historic trends to derive business insights
Building and presenting stories from model-based insights
Reporting on marketing KPIs, e.g. conversion rates, leads performance, retention, share of wallet, CLV
Providing support in maintaining documentation and standard operating procedures for data processes
Conducting competitive research and analyse benchmarking data

Qualifications we seek in you!
Minimum Qualifications / Skills
 Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field.
 Strong programming skills in R to write callable R scripts using command line
 Demonstrated experience with ML Frameworks such as sklearn (Python), caret(R)
 Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
 Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.Preferred Qualifications/ Skills:
 Advanced degree in a relevant field.
 Relevant Data Science certification
