Description:A Room Controller in a hotel manages room inventory and ensures efficient room flow by coordinating with Housekeeping, Front Desk, and Reservations to optimize room assignments, handle guest requests, manage out-of-order rooms, and support group check-ins. The role involves balancing room types, managing VIP and upgrade allocations, preventing overbooking, and acting as a liaison between departments to ensure seamless service and maximum revenue.Key Responsibilities:Room Inventory Management: Ensure the hotel is set up for success by appropriately blocking rooms, balancing room types, and managing out-of-order (OOO) and out-of-service (OOS) rooms.Guest Service Coordination: Organize and coordinate check-in/pre-registration procedures, manage room requests for changes, and coordinate room moves.Interdepartmental Communication: Act as a central point of contact between Front Desk, Reservations, and Housekeeping to ensure smooth operations and timely room readiness.Revenue Optimization: Participate in group strategy meetings, ensure VIPs are assigned to upgraded rooms, and contribute to controlling the overbooking process to maximize revenue.Operational Support: Assign rooms for day use, coordinate with Engineering for preventive maintenance, and help resolve guest challenges and billing questions.Reporting and Documentation: Generate and review daily reports, follow up on OOO/OOS rooms, and maintain documentation related to room assignments and guest paperwork.Qualifications:Required Skills:Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.Proficiency in computer systems for managing room inventory and reservations.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.Strong communication, both verbal and written.Knowledge of hospitality management practices and guest relation skills.
