- The specific role of the AVP – Risk Stewardship Delivery - AM Advisory Services is to support the Senior Manager - AM Compliance in various jurisdictions in delivering various tasks related to advisory, controls and governance. This will involve (but not limited to) :
- Reviewing and providing approval of Cross Border travel requests.
- Reviewing and providing approval of various marketing documentations
- Periodic review of self-compliance documents submitted by various jurisdictions.
- Periodic review and submission of multiple papers including reports on HELIOS Regulatory mapping report, access person controls, risk map and RAP metrics.
- Assisting with development and refinement of AM Compliance policies to meet Group requirements and to address new and evolving compliance risk.
- Handling the team in the CoE and ensure all deliverables are met within agreed timescales and quality.
- Lead the AM RC Bangalore function to ensure the risk stewardship delivery activities are delivered in a proactive, timely, accurate and effective manner.
- Provide strategic advice to the AM business and ensure it operates within its agreed risk appetite
- Exercise effective oversight on all AM CoE RC activities and develop the technical knowledge and experience of all Staff.
- Develop and recommend changes and improvements to operating models, procedures and practices based on subject matter expertise and understanding of HSBC and market best practice.
- Contribute to the development, implementation and maintenance of AM Global Regulatory Compliance Team management information, analysis and reporting framework that supports and informs timely and effective business management and decision making at all levels.
- Contribute to the implementation and monitoring of the application of team policies, governance frameworks, procedures, practices and standards to ensure quality, effective risk management and regulatory compliance.
- Degree or equivalent professional qualification.
- Good understanding of Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) and principles, AM’s Conduct programme and how this affects the role.
- Good understanding of Group policies, AM and RC procedures and the identification of local requirements associated to core AM RC advisory activities offshored.
- Demonstrable ability to clearly and concisely articulate risks, issues, and areas of escalation, and supporting recommendations with logic and reason through a range of media, including in written risk reports, email / memo style, and in verbal interactions.
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills including presentation skills (PowerPoint/excel/teams),
- Good attention to detail
- Ability to work under-pressure and meet deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to drive change, motivate Staff and influence senior management.
