Inviting applications for the role of Assistant Manager (Band 4B), US Indirect Taxation
We are seeking a highly skilled US Indirect Tax Specialist with expertise in sales and use tax, as well as value-added tax (VAT). The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with indirect tax regulations, managing tax filings, and supporting tax audits. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and contribute to the success of our global tax operations.
Responsibilities
- Support the review of excise tax returns for various countries across the EMEA region
- Assist with managing EMEA region VAT / Customs compliance for various WFS entities
- Assist with managing and maintaining indirect tax and customs processes
- Support to manage relationships with third party service providers and tax / customs authorities across EMEA region
- Assist with advising in a pro-active manner on excise tax related matters to various
- business units within the company (Supply Chain, Sales department, customer service team)
- Showing an interest in taxation / customs and be pro-active in staying on top of new tax and customs developments
- Review of Account Payable (AP) and Account Receivables (AR) invoices required for relief and recovery of VAT
- Ensure that VAT payments are made and received on time and any issues are dealt with
- Reconciliation of VAT ledger with VAT reports and VAT returns
- Support the management of the indirect tax aspects of external tax audits across EU
- Provide ad hoc support to other VAT team members where required
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s / bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, taxation field. CA Preferred
- 3–5 years of experience in indirect tax preparation and compliance, with a focus on Sales and Use tax preferably on Fuel tax and Excise Tax.
- Strong understanding of US and NON-US indirect tax regulations.
- Proficiency in using tax software and ERP systems (such as SAP or Oracle).
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working in a shared services or multinational environment.
- Knowledge of emerging technologies in tax compliance, such as automation tools or gen AI solutions.
- Professional certifications like CPA or CMA are a plus.
- A team player with an independent and flexible work attitude

- Confident in communicating with others
- Able to solve problems creatively and pragmatically
- Strong analytical and numeracy skills
- Interested in VAT & Customs and wants to develop further in the field
- Excellent in English (corporate language) writing and speaking with the ability to present complex subject matter clearly. A second language (German, French, Spanish or Italian) is of advantage.
