Position Summary:The Safe & Inventory Head is responsible for managing, monitoring, and safeguarding all jewellery inventory within the organization. This role ensures accuracy in stock records, maintains strict security of the safe and stockroom, prevents pilferage, and oversees smooth movement of inventory between stores, workshops, and counters. The position requires high integrity, precision, and adherence to company policies and industry compliance standards.Key Responsibilities:1. Safe & Security ManagementMaintain security and access control of the jewellery safe, vault, and strong room.
Authorize and supervise opening/closing of the safe in presence of designated staff.
Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and surveillance systems (CCTV, alarms, audits).
Maintain dual custody system (key holders) and daily register of safe movement.2. Inventory Control & Stock ManagementOversee receipt, storage, and issuance of jewellery stock.
Ensure accurate stock counting, tagging, and barcode/sku updation in ERP/POS systems.
Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly stock audits.
Reconcile physical stock with system records, investigate discrepancies, and report immediately.
Manage inter-store stock transfers and returns with proper documentation.3. Compliance & Record KeepingEnsure proper maintenance of inward/outward registers, challans, invoices, and stock ledgers.
Monitor compliance with company SOPs, hallmarking, and statutory requirements.
Coordinate with auditors for stock verification.4. Team ManagementLead inventory staff and safe custodians, ensuring discipline and accountability.
Train staff on inventory handling, record keeping, and security protocols.
Allocate responsibilities to ensure smooth functioning of daily stock operations.5. Loss Prevention & Risk ManagementImplement systems to minimize stock loss, theft, or pilferage.
Report incidents of stock variance, damage, or suspected theft immediately to management.
Collaborate with HR and Security team for disciplinary actions where needed.Key Skills & Competencies:Strong knowledge of jewellery stock handling (Gold, Diamond, Precious Stones).
Proficiency in Inventory Management Systems/ERP software.
High integrity, confidentiality, and trustworthiness.
Strong numerical and analytical ability.
Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
Knowledge of compliance related to jewellery hallmarking, BIS norms, and taxation preferred.Educational & Experience Requirements:Graduate in Commerce/Business Administration (preferred).
Minimum 5–8 years of experience in jewellery inventory/safe management.
Prior experience in handling high-value inventory is a must.
Experience in leading inventory teams and conducting audits.
