Job Description - Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager (Civil – Design)Location : ChennaiArea of Expertise : Design of Civil Building / Steel Structure. (Preferable in the field of SolarPower Plant)Minimum Qualification :Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field or Diploma In civil Engineering withSolar Experience.Experience:4-10 years of experience in civil engineering design, with a focus on solar projects andstructural analysis.Key Responsibilities:Design and Analysis:Developing detailed structural designs for module mounting systems, including foundations,support structures, and connections. This involves using engineering software like AutoCAD,STAAD Pro, and others to perform structural analysis and calculations to ensure stability andsafety.Design Engineer shall be capable of executing the engineering activities for civil &structural covering control room buildings, transformer foundations, outdoor equipmentfoundations, inverter rooms, grading, roads and drainage, outdoor steel structures andmiscellaneous works related to the Solar Power Plant.Design Engineer shall be able to review Vendor engineering documents with respect to Civil& Structural designPreparation of Bar Bending Schedule, Material take off for RCC , Structural work , Trenchworks, Foundation Bolts etc..Pre-Tender Engineering including estimation of BOM (Bill of Materials) and OfferMaterial Selection:Choosing appropriate materials for mounting structures based on factors like load-bearingcapacity, weather resistance, and cost-effectiveness.Compliance:Ensuring designs adhere to relevant building codes, industry standards, and safetyregulations, including Indian and international standards.Site Assessment:Conducting site surveys and evaluations to determine the suitability of locations for solarpanel installations and to assess ground conditions.Team workWorking closely with other engineers (electrical, mechanical) and project managers toensure the smooth integration of the mounting structures into the overall solar project.Documentation:Preparing and reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, and other projectdocumentation related to module mounting systems.Cost Estimation:Contributing to the estimation of material and labour costs associated with the design andinstallation of mounting structures.Required Skills and Qualifications:Software Proficiency:Strong knowledge and practical experience with AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, and other relevantdesign software.Structural Knowledge:A solid understanding of structural principles, including load calculations, materialproperties, and foundation design.Communication:Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with other teammembers.
