- Manage all Quality Assurance activities at the factory to ensure consistent food safety in line with global quality standards and ensure compliance to all related statutes
- Set up systems to analyze and monitor areas of deviation in process conditions, product quality, fortification levels and work closely with manufacturing team to implement corrective actions.
- Provide participative guidance to the quality assurance team to decide on plant audit frequencies, parameters etc, analyze audit reports and drive closure of concern areas within accepted timelines to ensure sanitation and hygiene levels as per Kellogg global standards.
- Lead the HACCP team and drive compliance to HACCP guidelines for food safety in all aspects of supply chain.
- Ensure compliance to all regulatory requirements with respect to food safety and packaging.
- Lead the investigation of consumer complaints and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence of complaints.
- Active participation in regional food safety CoPs
- Participate in the process of Cost Innovation, conduct ideation sessions, benchmark with other units and food companies for best practices and identify potential opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Graduate /Post graduate Degree qualifications in Food Technology, Science, Food Engineering or a related discipline are preferred. (5-8 years of experience)
- Knowledge in HACCP and food safety management systems and certifications
- Additional training in Continuous Improvement Systems (eg Six Sigma, TQM, Internal audits) will be highly regarded.
- Experience in Supply Chain with exposure to Quality, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in handling consumer complaints management
- Intimate knowledge of ISO management systems, and have experience in their application in an FMCG environment.
- Expertise of business operations including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), HACCP, and Safe Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Knowledge of the relevant legislation and site policies, processes and procedures relevant for managing employee relations.
- Strong verbal and written communication and listening skills
- Well-developed planning and organizing skills and ability to achieve results
- Proactive, problem solving and results orientated
- Superior influencing, Decision making and change management skills, with management and shop floor personnel
- Excellent in data management, data analysis and interpretation, Power point presentations
- Maintain a sense of urgency and discretion when dealing with confidential information and sensitive issues on a daily basis
