Within this team, we are responsible for Workday’s optimized job processing platform, which performs some of the largest customer jobs in Workday. We are a core part of the Workday stack, working with concurrent and distributed systems to provide this background job processing platform for our internal and external customers.
Our platform performs mission critical processing for our customers and has a key role in the scalability of Workday’s platform. The team is constantly innovating and evolving to build the next generation of critical Workday services.About the RoleWe are seeking a Software Build Engineer to design, implement, and maintain the build systems within Demand Capacity. This role is responsible for developing and optimizing build infrastructure, including scripts, tool chains, and CI/CD pipelines for local, cloud, and Jenkins-based environments. You will define strategies for code verification, test automation, and software release processes, while managing build configurations across multiple hardware platforms.The role also involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot build issues, integrate automated testing, and ensure software quality—supported by clear, thorough technical documentation.About YouRequired Qualifications:3 years of building frameworks, automation, and tooling.Experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines to automate the software development lifecycle from code commit to deployment.Experience building and maintaining delivery pipelines and workflows with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or comparable technologies.Experience with Version Control Systems such as Git, SVN, etc.Experience with build tools such as Maven, Gradle, or comparable technologies.Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective cross-functional collaboration.Other Qualifications:Proficient in scripting such as Python, Bash, or Groovy.Previous experience developing Gradle Plugins.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a drive for continuous improvement.Proactive in learning new tools and staying updated on industry trends.Our Approach to Flexible WorkWith Flex Work, we’re combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote.
