As a MS SQL Database Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining Database Servers and optimization, tuning databases for high performance, scalability and reliability. You need to have experience with SQL Server Performance tuning, indexing, Query optimization and database design. This role requires strong technical and collaboration skills to work with different teams to improve the performance of the databases.[Major Responsibilities]

Manage SQL Server instances, including installation, configuration, patching, database creation, backups and restores
Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of database servers
Monitor SQL Server health and performance using tools different Performance Monitor, Extended Events, DMVs
Expert in designing SQL Servers indexes, Statistics and perform database maintenance tasks
Expert in Database Recovery Process
Expert in troubleshooting SQL Servers errors and, blocking, deadlocks, slow performance, high resource utilization, network and storage issues
Expert in analyzing the Execution Plans, and refactoring the queries to optimize for high performance
Expert in plan and implement database capacity upgrades, scaling and migration to meet growing business needs
Manage user access, permissions and roles, implement Audit process and compliances as per the requirements
Review Database code of SQL Server Developers and guide them for query tuning optimization

[Requirement]

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
At least 9 years of experience in MS SQL Server Database administration
In-depth knowledge of SQL Server architecture, internals, and performance tuning techniques
Strong T-SQL Skills for query optimizations and performance
Experience with at least SQL Server versions from SQL Server 2022/2019/2016/2014
Strong knowledge of Windows Failover Cluster Server and SQL Server AlwaysOn
Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and analytical abilities
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
Certification on MS SQL Server Adminsitration

Knowledge of an additional DBMS product like MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB etc is an advantage
Experience with cloud platforms like Azure will be plus

Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell/Python
Familiarity with agile project management tools such as Jira, Confluence
