Senior Research Engineer, Acoustic Benchmarking

- Drive all regional Benchmarking activities for the purpose of production validation, development and competitive analysis
- Create and maintain Benchmarking procedures and processes required to consistently perform benchmarking duties
- Promote the Global Benchmarking process to both existing and potential customers with the intent of integrating those customers into the process
- Maintain proper testing documentation of system performance
- Develop methodologies to train on process and deliver training to both internal Harman employees and HARMAN OEM customers globally
- Work closely with Engineering and Sales to develop sound performance targets for customer development programs
- Responsible for all vehicle evaluation data analysis using the Global Benchmarking process and communication of that data within HARMAN or directly to the OEM customers regionally.
- Drive other sound quality benchmarking initiatives not necessarily following the HARMAN Benchmarking process
- Contribute to database containing results from the Global Benchmarking process
- Coordinate benchmarking activities with other regional Benchmarking leaders
- Bachelor's Degree in fields of Acoustic or Electrical Engineering
- At least 5 years related industry experience
- 5-8 years direct Acoustic and/or Electrical Engineering
- Experience in 3 or more of the following fields: software development, UI/UX design, graphic design, acoustic engineering, digital signal processing, psycho-acoustics, and recording arts.
- Knowledge of acoustic theory, sound reproduction, and sound system tuning
- Experience developing and debugging software in a real-time, embedded, multiprocessor, multi-interface environment.
- Knowledge of advanced acoustic principles and digital signal processing
- Knowledge of Matlab, C, C++, algorithm development and programming
- Masters Degree in fields of Acoustic or Electrical Engineering
- Be willing to work in an office in Pune, IN
- Successfully complete a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment
- This position requires the use of a use of a HARMAN or customer-owned vehicle. As such, any offer of employment will be contingent upon having a clean driving record, which will be evaluated and determined in HARMAN's sole discretion, no more than 4 active points for moving violations (issued by any motor vehicle agency), and no references to operating a vehicle under the influence of controlled substances within the last 10 years
