Along with this, you will support in developing the invention harvesting initiatives of Engineering and Research functions of Johnson Controls International.How you will do itDrafting Provisional/ Non-provisional patent Applications for filing in the US, EP, and IndiaDetermining novelty of invention based on comparison with known prior art, conducting inventor interviews, and drafting patent applications (including claims, detailed description, drawings)Drafting response to Office Action (especially for US applications) by analyzing patent applications and references cited in office action, framing strategies to respond on various objections/rejections (101, 102, 103, 112) in office action, amending claims and/or writing arguments.Understanding invention disclosures related to various technical domains (electronics, communication, software, and mechanical), and conducting quick knock-out searches.Work with inventors at India Engineering Centers to identify potential patentable features and assist them invention disclosure drafting & submission.What we look forWe are looking for our Intellectual Property Team at Johnson Control in Pune, IndiaRequiredB. E. / B. Tech. in Instrumentation & Controls, Electronics & Communication, Electrical or Electronics.Upto 5 years of patent drafting at in-house and/or leading LPO/KPOs.Good understanding of US, EP, and India patenting laws and various patent databases.Excellent written and verbal communication (in English) with ability to write creatively.Strong analytical skills with thorough understanding of the technology domain.Fair exposure to Search & AnalyticsOwners mindset and ability to complete tasks in a timely manner.Strong work ethics with excellent interpersonal & organizational skills.Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Patent optimizer tool.Ability to handle multiple projects & ensuring timely delivery.PreferredCertification in patent drafting/Registered IN Patent AgentDomain Knowledge in building management systems and HVAC products
