- Ensure health and safety risks on-site are identified, evaluated and mitigated.
- Lead H&S incident investigations (incl. Near Misses) to determine true root causes and define action plans
- Keep up to date on regulatory H&S requirements and update on compliance needs.
- Work with site stakeholders to maintain full compliance with regulatory and group requirements
- Monitor and verify local adherence to work safety standards and procedures as well as implementation ofall corrective actions identified during audits, inspections, risk assessments, etc.
- Continually increase the awareness and engagement of everyone on safety, promoting and developing aproactive culture of safety on-site.
- Organize emergency response for the plant.
- Organize and participate in safety governance meetings with Unions and plant functions.
- Together with representatives from work centers conduct, train and review risk assessments on a regular basis
- Jointly with functions, determine mitigation activities for gaps identified, in order to prevent injuries oradverse health impacts to employees
- Monitor implementation of agreed mitigation activities and report on implementation status
- Develop local H&S policies, procedures and work instructions based on group policies and procedures
- Monitor adherence to H&S policies, procedures and work instructions by conducting regular inspections in the workplace
- Drive and support local roll out of H&S projects and programs (including wellbeing)
- Organize and conduct H&S training for on-site staff, both to ensure competency and awareness on H&S but also to comply with legal requirements
- Provide H&S input to change projects on-site including design, purchasing, installation of machines and equipment or changes to site layout, new construction, facility design, etc.
- Ensure preventive maintenance on safety related equipment is planned and conducted as per manufacturer recommendations
- Ensures all H&S related licenses, notification, reporting requirements are met and related documents are maintained.
- Ensure statutory inspections on equipment are completed.
- Support plant Engineering team to execute the fire prevention activities, ensuring timely legal updates.
- Regular reporting on Health & Safety performance and initiatives (as per regional requirements)
- Regular reporting on status of H&S corrective and preventive actions (as per regional requirements)
- Active participation in meetings and calls with regional H&S to provide updates and share best practices
- Manages on-site medical staff/ cooperates with external staff on analysis of problems and medical surveillance planning concerning accidents, work environment and ergonomics
- Extend support for the implementation of Wellbeing initiatives in the Plant.
