Job Description:Hiring Location: Chennai, Trivandrum, KochiRole DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced Data Architect / Senior Data Engineer with deep expertise in SQL, Data Warehousing, and Cloud Data Platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP). The role involves designing and architecting solutions for medium to large-scale data projects, ensuring high performance, scalability, and compliance. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in SQL development, data modeling, ETL/ELT, analytics, and data governance, while mentoring teams and collaborating with stakeholders to deliver enterprise-grade solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesArchitecture & Solution DesignLeverage expertise in Informatica, Teradata, Hadoop, Analytics, and Cloud platforms to define and implement data architectures.Architect and implement data extraction, transformation, loading (ETL), data warehouses, data modeling, and reporting solutions.Define information structure, dataflows, backup, recovery, and security specifications.Ensure architectural alignment with regulatory compliance and data governance requirements.Project Execution & DeliveryGuide teams in developing Proof of Concepts (POCs), prototypes, and data-driven solutions.Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand workflows, requirements, and non-functional requirements (NFRs).Perform gap analysis, evaluate trade-offs, and recommend optimized solutions.Provide estimates, perform design/code reviews, and ensure best practices are followed.Operational & GovernanceSupport implementation of governance, stewardship, and frameworks for managing enterprise data.Optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and database schemas for performance.Implement data quality, completeness, and improvement strategies.People & Stakeholder ManagementSet goals, mentor, and guide engineers/technical specialists.Work with internal/external stakeholders to resolve architecture-related issues.Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions and support team skill-building initiatives.Innovation & ConsultingExplore new technologies, frameworks, and tools in Data Engineering & Cloud Analytics.Participate in internal and external forums, conferences, and thought leadership initiatives.Identify opportunities for new service offerings and reusable components.Mandatory SkillsSQL Development: 10+ years’ experience with Microsoft SQL Server, MS SQL.Strong expertise in writing complex stored procedures, triggers, views, indexes, and functions.Advanced knowledge of query optimization, SQL profiling, and database performance tuning.Strong hands-on experience with ETL tools, Data Warehousing concepts, and Data Migration.Proficiency in Data Modeling and Schema Design.Hands-on with Cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP) for data services.Knowledge of Hadoop ecosystem (Hive, Pig, MapReduce).Programming proficiency in Python and/or Java.Experience with Backup/archival software and data recovery.Good-to-Have SkillsCertifications in AWS/Azure/GCP Big Data/Analytics Specializations.Experience in Machine Learning, Advanced Analytics, or AI-driven solutions.Familiarity with 3rd party API integration.Exposure to Data Visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik).Contribution to data governance frameworks.Participation in standards organizations, regulatory bodies, or external conferences.Soft SkillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.Ability to mentor and lead teams, providing career guidance.Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and efficiency.Ability to balance innovation with practical implementation.Experience Range10+ years of overall experience in Data Engineering, SQL Development, and Architecture.Proven track record in handling end-to-end enterprise data projects.Skills:Data Architecture,Engineering,Program Delivery,HealthcareAbout Company:UST is a global digital transformation solutions provider.
