Responsibilities:
  • Project Planning and Execution: Lead and oversee the mechanical aspects of thermal power projects from conceptualization through commissioning, ensuring adherence to project timelines, cost control, and quality benchmarks aligned with Adani's operational standards.
  • Design Review and Engineering Support: Review mechanical designs, technical specifications, and engineering drawings to validate compliance with project requirements, safety standards, and industry best practices. Provide technical guidance to design teams and contractors to optimize mechanical systems.
  • Equipment Selection and Procurement: Collaborate with procurement and vendor management teams to select appropriate mechanical equipment and materials. Evaluate supplier proposals and ensure that procured items meet the technical and quality specifications required for thermal projects.
  • Installation and Commissioning: Supervise mechanical installation activities, ensuring correct alignment, fitting, and assembly of components in accordance with engineering drawings and manufacturer guidelines. Lead commissioning efforts by coordinating testing, troubleshooting, and performance validation of mechanical systems.
  • Maintenance Strategy Development: Formulate preventive and predictive maintenance schedules to maximize plant availability and reliability. Introduce innovative maintenance techniques and technologies that reduce downtime and lifecycle costs.
  • Safety and Compliance: Champion safety protocols related to mechanical operations and ensure compliance with national and international standards. Conduct regular audits, risk assessments, and root cause analyses to mitigate hazards and foster a zero-incident culture consistent with Adani's safety values.
  • Team Leadership and Stakeholder Management: Mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment. Liaise with project managers, contractors, and clients to facilitate clear communication and timely resolution of technical issues.
  • Continuous Improvement and Innovation: Drive continuous improvement initiatives by adopting cutting-edge mechanical engineering practices and sustainable technologies. Identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency, reduce environmental impact, and support Adani's green energy commitments.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Ensure meticulous documentation of all mechanical engineering activities including design modifications, test reports, maintenance records, and compliance certifications. Prepare detailed technical reports and project status updates for senior management review.
Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from a recognized university.12-19 years of progressive experience in mechanical engineering roles within the thermal power or related heavy industry sectors, including project execution, commissioning, maintenance, and plant operations.
