A Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) - Mechanical in a steel manufacturing company assists in maintenance, production, and quality control of heavy machinery (furnaces, rollers, conveyors) to ensure optimal, safe, and continuous operation. Key responsibilities include preventive maintenance, troubleshooting breakdowns, CAD designing, and adhering to strict safety protocols (e.g., LOTO, PPE).Key Responsibilities and Duties
  • Maintenance & Operations: Execute preventive and predictive maintenance on heavy mechanical equipment like furnaces, ladles, conveyors, and hydraulic systems.
  • Troubleshooting: Analyze root causes (RCA) of mechanical breakdowns to minimize downtime.
  • Safety Compliance: Implement safety procedures, conduct shop floor inspections, and promote a zero-accident environment.
  • Project Work: Assist in the installation and commissioning of new machinery and infrastructure.
  • Quality Control: Support production teams to ensure products meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Training & Documentation: Participate in technical training and maintain maintenance records.
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Education: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience: Fresher or 0-1 year of experience.
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of hydraulic systems, CAD software, and manufacturing processes.
  • Competencies: Strong troubleshooting ability, analytical skills, and commitment to safety.
Common Work Environment
  • Steel Melting Shop (SMS), Rolling Mills, or Maintenance Departments.
  • High-temperature environment, involving on-site work and troubleshooting.
