We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Electrical Design Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in electrical design calculations, panel design, equipment selection, SLD preparation, and onsite support. The role involves working with engineering drawings, preparing BOQs/BOMs, and adhering to national and international standards.Key Responsibilities:
1. Design Calculations:
Perform load demand, voltage drop, and power factor calculationsConduct transformer & DG sizing for substationsCarry out panel heat load, IP rating, and bus bar sizingPerform cable tray & conduit sizingApply design considerations like diversity and load factors2. Design & Component Selection:
Design of power/control cabinets and busbar systemsSelection of instrumentation (CT, PT, ammeter, voltmeter, MFM, etc.)Selection of switchgear and protection devices (fault current, overload, earth leakage)Motor starter selection (DOL, Star-Delta, VFD)Panel cooling system, cable distribution and specification selectionDesign of APFC panelsBOQ/BOM preparation and technical documentationKnowledge of PLC selection (preferably Siemens)3. Drawing Preparation:
Prepare Single Line Diagrams (SLD)Create interlocking, control, and protection schematicsGA drawings for MCC/PLC cabinets using E-PlanLayout drawings for substation, cable trays, earthing, and lightingInstrumentation & SCADA schematicsDG synchronization, load sharing, and load shedding schematics4. Onsite Support:
Support in fault finding: overload, short circuit, tripping, earth leakageConduct onsite power analysis and provide installation supportAssist in commissioning of electrical systems5. Technical Knowledge:
Understanding of power analyzers and protection relay settingsExposure to standards like IS, IEC, NEC, NFPAFamiliarity with high-efficiency systems (e.g., IE3 motors)Knowledge of hazardous area equipment selectionCoordination types, electrical safety guidelines, and installation practicesExperience with internal arc testing and synchronization of DG (preferred)6. Software Proficiency:
Microsoft Excel & WordE-Plan for schematicsETAP for simulation & analysisTIA Portal (Siemens HW configuration) – added advantage7. Standards & Compliance:
Working knowledge of IS 5572, NFPA 497/30, NBC, IS 3034EN standards like EN 61439, EN 62061, EN 60204High Voltage Directives and EMC Directive compliance8. Documentation:
Preparation of detailed BOM for Control, PCC, MCC cabinets, cables, lights, socketsQAP preparation and support documentation for engineering and site executionKey Skills:
