For more information, please visit: www.sattva.co.in About The Role Communications Associate is a key role in this initiative. The Communications Associate will enable visibility, alignment, relationships and representation of the program both internally to all the partners, and externally to all stakeholders such as funders, government, and civil society, to further the initiative's goals. You will report to the Communications Director and will work with key stakeholders This role encompasses four key aspects: Strategic communication Translate the project's journey and actions into convincing stories for dissemination internally and externally Develop and lead an effective communication plan in line with the overarching change & communications strategy Develop new formats for communications that are appropriate and effective for different audiences Coordination and Collaboration Maintain a communications calendar for the social media handles - (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn), mailing lists and mailing interface for newsletters Assist in communication material and content development for the project's web presence/ social media handles and assisting in content development for newsletters Coordinate with the team, partner organizations and government for communications and related requirements Support team with media and communications including video interviews, strategic communications, public pieces, editorial outreach and critical event communications External communication, media events and relationships Ensure website is up to date Support in planning, developing and implementing PR strategies Research, write and distribute press releases to targeted media Provide support to organize media consultations for the program partners Coordinate with media contacts and maintain relationships Identify relevant platforms such as events, press conferences, panel discussions, etc., to amplify program's work and impact Organize press conferences, events and press tours as needed Journaling and archival Document and archive all project communication output Ensure smooth production of all communication material Provide support to other knowledge and communication activities including, academics, research, practice, operations, training and other activities The Ideal Candidate Basic Qualifications 3-6 years experience in internal and external communication, corporate communications or journalism in large corporates or NGOs. University degree in a relevant field (MBA , language, literature, other humanities, journalism, PR) Essential Skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Besides 100% proficiency in the English language, oral fluency in Kannada is a must Highly self motivated & results orientated and able to thrive in a target-focused environment Ability to work & engage with diverse stakeholders, influencing and analytical skills Very good knowledge of MS Office tools, social media proficiency and visual communication capabilities (infographics, video clips etc.) Desired Skills Reading fluency in Kannada Experience of working in development sector, journalistic experience would be appreciated, ideally gathered in various assignments Experience in planning and implementing communications campaign Why Sattva It's not about us really- Because IMPACT is everybody's business.
