Position Summary:Morgan Stanley seeks a professional to join the Expense Team as an analyst, reviewing and approving expense reports submitted by Morgan Stanley Employees. The Expense Analyst will work closely with all levels of field management to ensure T&E expense activity submitted by field advisors and branch personnel, have been appropriately reviewed and approved using various internal systems. The Expense Analyst will report directly to the Expense Approval Manager. The Expense Analyst will interact with the field and internal personnel to resolve issues encountered during the expense review and approval process. Expense analysts are responsible for understanding Firm policies and procedures to allow them to review expense activity accurately and efficiently.Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Review and approve employee T&E expense reimbursement requests
  • Ability to review a high volume of detailed expense reimbursement requests meeting/exceeding monthly expectations for production and quality in a fast-paced environment
  • Provide world-class customer service to both field facing and internal counterparts in all interactions
  • Ensure all expense requests are handled in a timely and accurate manner; if there are any issues, resolve / escalate on a case-by-case basis
  • Research and resolve problems and deficiencies in a timely manner
  • Apply Firm policies and procedures on expense review and approval activity
  • Proactively participate in available training and education programs to maintain current status on policies, procedures and risk awareness
  • Provide and receive feedback and suggestions on ways to improve processes that are in place
  • Apply critical thinking when making decisions on items to evaluate risk and client experience
  • Other duties and responsibilities as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education experience preferred, or applicable work experience in lieu of education will be considered
  • Excellent interpersonal and client service skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent judgement
  • Exceptional organization and follow-up skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Ability to research and resolve problems and service inquiries and escalate issues where appropriate
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Team player with the ability to collaborate with others
  • Self-motivated with ability to work in a fast-paced environment
