This is a full-time role ideal for candidates with 1-3 years of experience in healthcare settings, involving direct support for physiotherapists and active participation in patient rehabilitation processes.Qualifications and Skills
  • Patient care experience with demonstrated empathy and interpersonal skills to support patients during physical therapy sessions (Mandatory skill).
  • Proficiency in guiding patients through therapeutic exercises as prescribed by physical therapists, ensuring safe and effective practices (Mandatory skill).
  • Hands-on experience assisting with rehabilitation activities for a diverse patient population recovering from injury or surgery (Mandatory skill).
  • Competence in instructing and supervising range of motion exercises while monitoring patient progress and reporting abnormalities promptly.
  • Good understanding of basic medical terminology to facilitate accurate communication with medical and therapy staff regarding patient care.
  • Ability to assist patients with gait training and ambulation under the direction of physical therapists to help improve their mobility and confidence.
  • Knowledge of protocols for sanitization and proper handling of physical therapy equipment to maintain a high standard of infection control and safety.
  • Strong organizational skills to maintain patient records and therapy area readiness, supporting effective and efficient rehabilitation workflows.
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Assist physical therapists with the implementation of prescribed treatment plans and motivated guidance for patients during therapy sessions.
  • Demonstrate and support patients in performing therapeutic exercises, ensuring form and safety while tracking patient adherence and performance.
  • Prepare therapy areas and equipment before and after use, adhering to hospital protocols for cleanliness and equipment sanitization.
  • Support patients while transferring to and from therapy equipment or facilities, maintaining safety and offering reassurance at all times.
  • Conduct range of motion and gait training exercises under supervision, observing and documenting patient responses and progress diligently.
  • Maintain accurate patient logs, update records as directed by therapists, and communicate any observed issues or improvements to the therapy team.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary care team to ensure patient-centered, seamless transitions throughout the rehabilitation process.
  • Help maintain a supportive and welcoming environment for patients, fostering trust and comfort during their rehabilitation journey.
