Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and innovative Payment Product Manager to drive the strategy, design, and execution of a part of our payments portfolio, including UPI, BBPS , AEPS, IMPS , ONDC, PPI/wallets, E-banking and other retail payment solutions. The role requires a blend of business acumen, product management expertise, deep understanding of the Indian payments ecosystem, and strong stakeholder management.
Key Responsibilities
1. Product Strategy & Roadmap
- Develop and own the product vision and roadmap for digital payments across consumer segments.
- Align payment product strategy with RBI guidelines, national payment system initiatives, and internal business goals.
- Identify market trends, customer needs, and competitive intelligence to drive product innovation.
- Lead end-to-end product development from conception to launch, including feature definition, design, testing, and continuous improvement.
- Own and manage a part of payment products such as UPI, AEPS, IMPS, NEFT, RTGS, BBPS payment solutions.
- Ensure adherence to RBI regulations, NPCI guidelines, and all applicable payment systems laws.
- Work closely with compliance and risk teams for product approvals and audits.
- Partner with Technology, Operations, Risk, Compliance, Legal, Marketing, and Sales teams to deliver seamless payment solutions.
- Liaise with external partners such as NPCI, NBBL and fintech service providers for integrations and product enhancements.
- Drive adoption and usage of payment products through intuitive UI/UX design, loyalty programs, and targeted campaigns.
- Track and analyse performance metrics to improve transaction volumes and revenues while reducing customer attrition and payment failures.
Education:
- Graduate in Business, Finance, or Engineering; MBA or equivalent preferred.
- 7-12 years of experience in payments, banking, or fintech industry.
- Proven track record in launching and managing successful payment products in the Indian market.
- In-depth understanding of Indian payment systems (UPI, IMPS, NEFT, RTGS, BBPS ++ ).
- Awareness of RBI/NPCI regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with APIs, fraud detection tools, and banking platforms.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration skills.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Growth in transaction volumes and active users across payment products.
- Reduction in payment failures and dispute rates.
- Timely compliance with RBI/NPCI guidelines.
- Customer satisfaction and NPS scores for payment services.
- Successful launch of new payment product/features within budget and timelines.
