Job Description Role : Shift Manager Location : Hyderabad Job Purpose Shift Manager is a critical role responsible for ensuring that the Factory operation runs smoothly, resulting in high quality and efficient production. Shift manager need to coordinate with functions across factory so that the production plan is achieved in terms of customer service and cost; as well as the standards are maintained or exceeds in the areas of quality, safety, hygiene and environment. Leading associates for daily routine shift task completion and problem solving to improve performance in the areas of customer service, cost, quality, safety, hygiene and environment. Take leadership and ownership of the shift team; be fully responsible for shift operation He/she should execute production plan/schedule; effectively convert the raw material into the finished goods while maintaining process specification and quality standard in a safe and sanitary environment. At an overall level, the responsibilities include developing people, process and machinery to meet world class manufacturing standards. Job Responsibilities Organize, direct and coordinate the overall shift planning, guidance of labor utilization, breakdown management to ensure maximum output at the lowest cost consistent with desired quality, food safety standards and employee safety. Lead FMOS (i.e. shift handover, performance review meetings and process confirmation) that enables the shift team to measure and manage the KPIs of agreed contract deliveries for safety, quality/food safety, cost, customers' service KPIs. Engagement: Improve associates moral and build highly engaged high performance team. Develop team and direct reports to higher level in technical and managerial. Manufacturing Targets: To deliver planned factory output, TRS and PSL by effectively organizing the shift resources and activities and/or support troubleshooting activities. Some of the key measurement criteria for this will be MCC/ton, Quality result, Complaints level, ATS, TRS, safety Indices and Q12 & follow through index CI, learning & flexible team: To continuously improve the yield of first-pass quality, saleable product and actively seek ways to reduce and eliminate inefficiencies, consumer complaints resulting from factory activities. Co-ordinate ongoing continuous improvement projects Lean: Eliminate 7 wastes in operation, solving with 5 Whys and failure root cause analysis, reduce manufacturing conversion cost, and continuously drive for lean operation. Associate Development - Developing Direct reports i.e. determining development plans for Associates within the team. Leads and motivates the team, including the development of talent and high performance collaboration. In conjunction with associates' career goals, creates development plans to challenge their potential and provide clear career paths. Providing right training & development opportunities for ensuring a ready now successor for his role. Run appropriate performance reviews and development discussions as part of the agreed Mars India processes. Ensure disciplinary matters are dealt in accordance to the company policies and procedures. Safety: To ensure safety of all the associates and contractors working in the shift, safety of our products, property and all activities in the plant when on duty. Lead the Emergency Team in handling emergency situation in the shift. Food Safety, Hygiene, and GMP: To ensure shift hygiene and adherence to GMP in the plant and continuously seek to improve in this area through good communication, training of associates and good management. Quality- 'Associate is responsible to ensure effective implementation of Mars QMP (Quality Management Process), Quality and Food Safety requirements including Personnel Hygiene and GMP stated by the Organization as applicable. Associate shall deliver through Respective Area/Process Standard Operating Procedures. Meet basic competency requirements mentioned in the job Role Skill Matrix to ensure Quality and Food Safety requirements are implemented to satisfactory level.' SES-Create SES culture within the team through visible demonstration, engaging his/her team in all SES activities, defining SES objective as annual KRA's and effective deployment of SES Policy/Management system. Responsible to ensure that Risk assessment is performed and controls implemented and maintained for all operational activities. Overall responsibility to ensure the functional compliance to Mars Global Standards, Asset conservation standards and all relevant local SES legislation. Job Specifications/Qualifications Note: May Differ from current job holder's own skills & experience Educational & Professional Qualification Preferably Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Food technology/Science. Knowledge/Experience At least 5 years of experience in Manufacturing with the capability of leading teams. Manufacturing/operation management experience Good coaching & people management skills Effective communication & influencing skills Good analytical skills and trouble shooting Experience in Lean, Safety & Quality.
