Roles & ResponsibilitiesJob Summary : Engineer -PreCast will be responsible for complete activities related to WAX and Replicast patterns making and assembly, Shelling, Defoaming as per the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). It includes the pattern Scheduling on Wax press, Pattern assembly and Caging, Manual & Robotic Coating, Shell Defoaming, Shell Firing etc. Complete documentation of records related to process as per the AS9100:2018 norms. Ensuring the proper implementation of the SOP. Responsible for implementation of Lean Manufacturing practices and actively take part in the Six sigma Projects and Kaizen. Manager -Precast will be also responsible for the following the norms as per ISO14001 and ISO45001.Key Responsibilities:
  • Leading the Team of 3D Printing, Wax Press & Wax Pattern Assembly, Manual & Robotic Coating, Autoclave & Shell Firing, Shell Repairing and ensuring the shell readiness for pouring as per the Schedule.
  • Co-ordinate with Planning & Customer Support for the preparation and requirement of schedule for the new Development and monthly plan.
  • Preparation and readiness of pattern for tree assembly and coating as per the Shelling requirement.
  • Monitoring the Managing the OEE for identified equipment's.
  • Manage and control the proper up keeping of wax Dies and Patterns.
  • Co-ordinate with QC Deptt for the Inspection of pattern.
  • Responsible to ensure operator level preventative maintenance is conducted on all equipment to ensure fault free operation.
  • Liaise with maintenance department for short/long term maintenance planning and execution.
  • Res Pattern Assembly facility is organized using 5S approaches and materials and resources are appropriately planned.
  • Co-ordinate production requirements with support from incubation head, CAD Team and production planning department.
  • Handle and facilitate process and product-based NCR's for issues arising in Ti Cast manufacturing system.
  • Plan appropriate levels and qualities of raw materials needed for the production of Wax Pattern, testing, tree assembly
  • To ensure safe work environment within the working area along with safety officer, Quality and Operation Head.
  • The Jobholder must ensure Product safety and prevent the FOD and Counterfeit parts in their concerned area.
  • Preparing and providing the MIS reports
The Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for this role shall be:
  • Making the Shells as per the schedules.
  • Maintenance and adherence to SOP and Work Instructions.
  • OEE Monitoring and effective utilization of machines and resources.
  • Reduction in production lead times.
  • Minimization of Rejection, scrap and rework.
  • Adherence to quality standards and specifications.
  • Continuous improvement (Kaizen) in processes.
  • Conducting the Six sigma & Cost Saving Projects
Authority
  • To hold any process or Job after consultation with Reporting Manager/HOD in charge upon finding any discrepancy of incoming material/product.
  • To process the job after proper inspection to next stage, need to discuss with Reporting Manager/HOD If reqd.
  • Signing on all production documents or inspection sheet.
  • Raising the NCR for any Quality related issue.
  • To give observations on audit findings.
  • To prepare indent for process & product related requirements.
  • To update the data in required format & ERP system.
  • To take necessary actions and disposition of nonconforming outputs after consultation with reporting manager.
  • Responsible for providing on job training on the Quality/production related topics to blue collar/subordinate after getting self-trained on the subject matter.
People

Desired Candidate ProfileEducation and Certifications:
  • A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is typically required for this role. Additional certifications or specialized training for Investment Casting is preferred.
  • Diploma/Degree from NIFFT, Ranchi or similar institute is preferred.
Experience:
  • Proven experience as a Production Engineer in Pre-Cast section of Foundry or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
Technical / Functional Expertise & other competencies:
  • Proven experience of working in the areas of Wax pattern making
  • Experience with ERP software and proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing principles and best practices.
  • Familiarity with quality management systems and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex situations.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory capacity is preferred.
  • Good written and verbal communication skill (English + Hindi) and Computer literacy
  • Aptitude to read technical information
  • Moderate level of general metallurgy and engineering requirements.
  • Shows initiative and problem solving ability
  • Motivate fellow employees to achieve agreed goals.
  • Support the creation of an environment for continuous improvement.
