- Lead the design and development of plumbing and fire fighting systems, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards (NFPA, IPC, etc.).
- Prepare design calculations, equipment selection, and system layouts.
- Project Management
- Oversee multiple projects from concept through commissioning.
- Coordinate with various stakeholders to deliver integrated solutions and ensure timely completion.
- Technical Oversight & Quality Assurance
- Review and approve technical documents prepared by junior engineers.
- Conduct quality checks and site inspections to ensure adherence to design specifications.
- Compliance & Team Leadership
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant codes and industry best practices.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and BIM teams.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with clients, consultants, and vendors to address project requirements and resolve technical issues.
- Participate in client meetings, project reviews, and value engineering discussions.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field (mandatory).
- Master’s Degree in a relevant discipline (preferred).
- 7–15 years of proven experience in designing and managing plumbing and fire fighting systems for commercial, residential, or industrial projects.
- Demonstrable track record of successfully completed medium to large-scale projects.
- Thorough understanding of plumbing and fire protection design principles, hydraulic calculations, and water supply/distribution networks.
- Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, and hydraulic calculation tools).
- In-depth knowledge of NFPA, IPC, and local building codes/regulations.
- Strong leadership and project management capabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving approach.
- Professional Engineer (PE), Chartered Engineer (CEng), or equivalent.
- NFPA or other relevant fire protection certifications.
