Lead Electrical Engineer - Substation design

- You'll own and execute the design of substations (100KV+) for utility scale solar and/or BESS projects with sizes
- You'll execute calculations/design for grounding, DC/AC auxiliary power loading, bus sizing, lighting, and cable sizing etc.
- You'll review requirements and select and/or recommend specifications of major components.
- You'll closely collaborate with the project managers, enabling them to effectively communicate with our customers, utility companies/contractors, administrative/government agencies etc.
- You'll assist with responding to RFPs, conduct feasibility studies as needed.
- You'll be innovative and proactive in providing solutions/solution approaches.
- You'll perform other duties and special projects as assigned, while working with other teams to ensure clients' needs and internal deadlines are met.
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
- 6-10 years of overall experience in designing utility scale PV/BESS projects (20MW or higher) with 3-5 years of experience with substation designs (100KV+) - concept to general layout, sectional views, cable sizing etc.
- Experience/familiarity with load flow, short circuit, arc flash & interconnections studies.
- Experience with ETAP, PSCAD etc.
- Knowledge of IEEE, IS, IEC, NEC and other standards as applicable to high voltage substations as well as with regulatory approvals and associated processes.
- Ability to work under minimal supervision and resolve issues independently based on project/company standards.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven record of good judgment and analytical skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with engineering, construction, and customer facing teams.
- Expertise in technical aspects of Solar Modules, Inverters, mounting systems & BoS.
- Experience with executing utility scale projects in North America.
