- Lead and manage the PPAP process for new and existing components, ensuring all documentation and submissions meet customer and organizational requirements.
- Review and approve PPAP documents including control plans, PFMEA, process flow diagrams, dimensional reports, and material certifications.
- Conduct Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI) to verify product quality before shipment, ensuring adherence to specifications and customer expectations.
- Collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality issues through root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Perform supplier audits (process, system, and product) to ensure compliance with quality standards and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor supplier performance metrics such as PPM, on-time delivery, and quality trends, and drive improvement plans where necessary.
- Support new product development by working cross-functionally with engineering, procurement, and manufacturing teams.
- Ensure effective implementation of quality tools such as 8D, 5 Whys, SPC, MSA, and APQP.
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to promote a culture of quality and accountability.
- Participate in internal and external quality reviews and customer audits as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or related Engineering field.
- 3–5 years of experience in supplier quality or manufacturing quality roles.
- Strong hands-on experience with PPAP and PDI processes is mandatory.
- In-depth knowledge of quality standards such as ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 is preferred.
- Familiarity with core quality tools: APQP, FMEA, SPC, MSA, and control plans.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and quality documentation tools.
- Willingness to travel to supplier locations as needed.
- Experience in automotive or manufacturing industry is highly desirable.
- Certification in quality (e.g., Six Sigma Green Belt) is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple suppliers/projects simultaneously.
