This role involves setting the technical direction for our platform, mentoring team members, and ensuring the scalability, reliability, and security of our cloud-native systems. This role requires close collaboration with the Cloud Architect to ensure strategic alignment and technical vision.Key ResponsibilitiesDevOps Strategy & Architecture:
Work closely with the Cloud Architect to translate architectural vision into concrete DevOps strategies and implementations.
Design and implement enterprise-grade IaC solutions using tools like Terraform, or OpenTofu, for multi-cloud or hybrid environments.
Architect robust and scalable CI/CD pipelines for microservices and complex applications, incorporating advanced deployment strategies (e.g., blue/green, canary).
Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and processes to enhance our DevOps capabilities.
Release Management Leadership:
Lead and manage complex release cycles, ensuring smooth and efficient deployments across multiple environments.
Establish and enforce release governance, best practices, and post-release validation procedures.
Automate release orchestration and provide visibility into release progress and status.
Infrastructure & Platform Leadership:
Provide technical leadership in the design, implementation, and management of cloud infrastructure (Azure preferred) and platform services.
Oversee the creation and management of environments (dev, test, staging, production), ensuring consistency and adherence to standards.
Guide the implementation of advanced monitoring, logging, and observability solutions for comprehensive system insights.
Security & Compliance:
Champion and enforce cloud security best practices, including advanced IAM, secrets management, and network security design.
Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements across all infrastructure and deployment processes.
Drive the adoption of Zero Trust principles and secure API practices.
Team Leadership & Mentorship:
Mentor and guide less experienced DevOps engineers, fostering their technical growth and professional development.
Lead by example, promoting a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Participate in talent acquisition, interviewing, and onboarding of new team members.
Documentation & Knowledge Transfer:
Establish standards for comprehensive documentation of infrastructure, architectural decisions, deployment processes, and operational runbooks.
Ensure effective knowledge transfer to internal teams and clients for long-term system ownership.
Collaboration:
Work closely with developers to align infrastructure and pipeline support with their needs.
Collaborate extensively with Cloud Architect, Development Leads, and Security teams to align platform strategies with overall product and security roadmaps and validate technical designs.
Act as a key liaison between engineering teams and business stakeholders for technical matters along with Cloud Architect.
Agile Integration:
Work closely with Scrum teams to embed DevOps best practices in daily Agile development.
Enable continuous delivery and integration pipelines that support bi-weekly or frequent Agile releases.
Guide teams on DevSecOps practices to embed security early in Agile sprints (shift-left).
Collaborate with Product Owners, Architects, and QA in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and release planning.Required Qualifications· 8+ years of hands-on experience in a senior or lead DevOps, Platform Engineering.· Expert-level proficiency with cloud infrastructure Azure and related services.· Proven ability to leverage the power of AI during active code or script development and for strategic decision-making.· Extensive experience with Serverless computing and automated deployment of serverless functions using Azure DevOps Pipelines and/or GitHub Actions.· Expertise in IaC tools (Terraform, OpenTofu, Bicep) for large-scale, multi-environment deployments.· Deep experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps) and advanced deployment strategies.· Strong scripting and automation skills (Bash, Python, PowerShell).· Extensive experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).· In-depth knowledge of security best practices for infrastructure, application deployment, and data security.· Strong understanding of data lake/data warehouse concepts, APIs, and orchestration tools, ETL/ELT pipelines. Proficient in Azure or other cloud data services, with extensive experience in data-related services (ADF, Synapse, Databricks, Azure SQL, Blob Storage).· Demonstrated ability to drive and implement complex technical projects.Preferred Qualifications· Multiple cloud certifications (e.g., Azure DevOps Expert, Azure Solutions Architect Expert).· Experience in a regulated industry or with strict compliance requirements.· Familiarity with secrets management and policy-as-code tools (e.g., HashiCorp Vault, OPA) at an enterprise level.· Experience with chaos engineering and resilience testing.Success Metrics· DevOps strategy and platform architecture are clearly defined, communicated, and adopted across the organization.· Infrastructure and environments are consistently delivered on time, highly stable, secure, and in alignment with enterprise architectural standards.· CI/CD pipelines enable reliable, frequent, and automated software delivery with minimal human intervention.· Advanced monitoring and alerting systems provide proactive insights and support rapid issue resolution.· The team demonstrates continuous improvement in efficiency, reliability, and security metrics.Location: IND Work-at-HomeLanguage Requirements:Time Type: Full timeIf you are a California resident, by submitting your information, you acknowledge that you have read and have access to the
