Job Title: Data Governance SpecialistLocation: Noida/Gurgaon/Hyderabad/Bangalore/PuneExperience: 6+ yearsJob Overview:We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Data Governance Specialist to join our data platform team. This role is essential for ensuring the integrity, security, and effective management of data across our hybrid cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in implementing data governance frameworks along with a solid understanding of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Databricks.Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable data governance frameworks and policies.
  • Define and manage data ownership, data stewardship, and data lineage processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data quality, security, and compliance across all systems.
  • Implement metadata management, data cataloging, and classification mechanisms.
  • Work closely with data engineering and data analytics teams to ensure alignment with governance policies.
  • Define and enforce role-based access controls (RBAC), encryption standards, and data lifecycle management.
  • Drive adoption of governance tools and best practices across the enterprise.
  • Monitor and report on data governance KPIs and continuously improve processes.
  • Participate in audits and ensure compliance with regulatory standards such as GDPR, HIPAA, etc.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 6+ years of experience in data governance, data management, or related roles.
  • Strong understanding of data governance principles, including data stewardship, data quality, and data privacy.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, and Databricks.
  • Familiarity with tools like Collibra, Alation, Purview, or similar is a plus.
  • Experience in managing data catalogs, lineage, and metadata.
  • Working knowledge of cloud security, compliance frameworks, and data policies.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certifications in AWS, Azure, or Databricks.
  • Prior experience working in a regulated industry (e.g., healthcare, finance, etc.).
  • Experience with data governance tools native to cloud platforms (Azure Purview, AWS Glue Data Catalog, etc.).
