The Senior Associate Director – Tech@Lilly LRL is a pivotal leadership role in Lilly Bangalore, responsible for overseeing people, processes, portfolios, and technology delivery at Lilly Bangalore. This role requires a strong blend of strategic vision, technical acumen, and leadership skills to manage end-to-end capabilities, scale services, and execute strategic initiatives. The leader will foster innovation and operational excellence across key domains, including Research R&D, and Engineering, while ensuring solutions are secure, compliant, scalable, and aligned with organizational priorities.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership
- Define and deliver a multi-year strategy and capability roadmap aligned with global LRL and Lilly Bangalore priorities.
- Unlock the potential of AI across Research domains to enhance decision-making and innovation.
- Lead highly strategic portfolios such as Mergers & Acquisitions, enabling seamless integration of acquired organizations into Lilly’s technology and research ecosystem.
- Collaborate with global and local teams to influence and shape the broader IT agenda, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Provide thought leadership and create a culture of innovation, exploring advancements in radical, incremental, and architectural technologies.
- Oversee governance, ensuring consistency in processes, compliance, and shared consciousness across service areas.
- Drive portfolio delivery excellence with an “Outcome over Ownership” approach, balancing short-term achievements with long-term scalability.
- Implement best practices for delivery, strategy, and engineering KPIs to ensure success in investment programs.
- Build, manage, and mentor high-performing product and engineering teams across LCCI, ensuring seamless operations and delivery.
- Attract and retain top talent, focusing on leadership development and succession planning.
- Foster a collaborative environment that promotes high integrity, performance, and shared learning across global and local teams.
- Oversee the design and implementation of modern technologies, including Cloud Computing (AWS, Azure, GCP), DevOps, MLOps, SaaS, and microservices architectures.
- Guide advanced technology areas, including AI and Quantum Computing, ensuring alignment with Lilly’s research and business strategies.
- Ensure systems are designed and deployed with scalability, security, and efficiency in mind.
- Collaborate with architects, technologists, and service leaders to drive engineering excellence and innovation.
- Champion tech-enabled transformation, driving impactful solutions across LRL Tech@Lilly and beyond.
- Establish strong partnerships with global business units and other stakeholders to drive a united vision and cohesive strategy.
- Influence strategic decision-making through effective challenge and constructive debate, ensuring alignment with enterprise goals.
- Ensure delivery of enterprise-class IT services leveraging Agile, DevOps, ITIL, and ITSM frameworks.
- Act as a role model in driving process excellence, governance, and adherence to quality and compliance standards.
- Optimize resource allocation and manage risks to deliver timely, high-quality outcomes across portfolios.
- The candidate must demonstrate exceptional influencing skills to effectively engage and align a diverse set of stakeholders across the Org.
- This includes the ability to communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and compelling manner, build trust, and drive consensus across cross-functional teams.
- Influence senior leaders by articulating the strategic value of technology investments, aligning digital initiatives with business priorities, and demonstrating measurable outcomes and ROI.
- Leadership Acumen: Proven track record of managing large, diverse teams, driving strategic initiatives, and delivering impactful outcomes in a complex, global environment.
- Technical Expertise: Strong technical knowledge across IT domains, including cloud platforms, software development, DevSecOps, and ITSM practices.
- Pharma Domain Knowledge: Experience in regulated industries like Pharma and Life Sciences, with a solid understanding of compliance standards and processes.
- Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional ability to build professional networks, foster collaboration, and manage geographically dispersed teams.
- Delivery Focus: Expertise in Agile, DevOps, and engineering frameworks to deliver scalable, secure, and efficient IT solutions.
- Advanced certifications: Any technical equivalent, or PMP, SAFe Agilist, CSM, ITIL, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with Pharma R&D processes and AI/ML applications in research domains.
- Experience in defining and executing IT strategies, delivering enterprise IT services, and managing complex technology portfolios.
