The ideal candidate should have expertise in the IBDP Psychology curriculum , and a passion for fostering critical thinking and inquiry-based learning.Key ResponsibilitiesAcademic Curriculum DevelopmentOversee the IBDP Psychology curriculum, ensuring alignment with IB guidelines and school standards.Develop innovative lesson plans, teaching methodologies, and assessments that promote analytical and research-oriented learning.Implement interdisciplinary teaching approaches, integrating Psychology with other IB subjects.Stay updated on IB curriculum changes and best practices to enhance program delivery.Foster a culture of academic rigour, intellectual curiosity, and independent inquiry among students.Teaching & Student EngagementTeach IBDP Psychology (Years 1 & 2), ensuring high-quality instruction and active student participation.Guide students in Internal Assessments (IA), Extended Essays (EE), and Theory of Knowledge (TOK) discussions.Provide individualised support and mentoring to students preparing for IB exams and university applications.Encourage critical thinking, real-world application of psychological concepts, and research-based learning.Assessment & EvaluationDesign and administer formative and summative assessments in line with IB standards.Analyse student performance data and implement strategies for continuous improvement.Provide constructive feedback to students and maintain accurate academic records.Faculty Development & Departmental LeadershipLead and mentor a team of Psychology teachers, fostering a collaborative and professional environment.Conduct departmental meetings, training workshops, and professional development programs for faculty.Support new teachers with IB training and pedagogy to ensure high teaching standards.Work with the IB Coordinator to ensure seamless implementation of IB policies and assessments.Administrative & Collaborative ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with other department heads and school leadership to enhance interdisciplinary learning.Participate in curriculum planning, accreditation processes, and IB evaluation visits.Maintain records, reports, and documentation required for IB authorization and compliance.Engage with parents, guardians, and external stakeholders to support student development.Extracurricular & Research InitiativesPromote Psychology-based extracurricular activities, including clubs, research projects, and competitions.Encourage students to engage in psychological research, experiments, and case studies.Organize guest lectures, workshops, and field trips to provide real-world exposure to students.Qualifications & SkillsRequired:Master’s degree in Psychology or a related field.B.Ed. or equivalent teaching certification (mandatory).Minimum 5–7 years of experience in teaching IBDP Psychology, with at least 2–3 years in a leadership role.Certified IBDP Psychology trainer (preferred).Strong command of English with excellent verbal and written communication skills.Preferred:Experience in educational leadership or department management.Familiarity with integrating technology into teaching and assessments.Passion for mentoring students in university applications, research, and psychology-related careers.Salary & BenefitsCompetitive salary based on experience and qualifications.On-campus accommodation and meals provided.Professional development opportunities and IB training.Access to state-of-the-art facilities and resources.Application ProcessInterested candidates should submit the following:A detailed CV with a recent passport-sized photograph.A cover letter outlining teaching philosophy, leadership experience, and vision for the department.Copies of relevant certifications and IB training credentials.Contact details for at least two professional references.Deadline for Application: Immediate applications will be prioritised.Submit applications to:Subject: Application for IBDP Psychology Teacher PositionJoin our team at GSIS and play a pivotal role in shaping future global leaders through the study of Psychology!
