- Acting as a principal consultant and expert advisor within Azure, working with enterprise customers across various industries.
- Design and Architecture: The Azure PaaS Architect is responsible for designing and architecting solutions on the Azure platform. This includes understanding business requirements, selecting appropriate Azure PaaS services, designing scalable and reliable architectures, and ensuring optimal performance.
- Adhere to architectural standards and principles, enforce product-specific guidelines, and usability design standards.
- Migration: Hands on experience in Cloud Migration (Azure). Tenant to Tenant, Subscription to Subscription, On-premise to Azure, Other Clouds to Azure etc.
- Cloud Strategy: You should have a deep understanding of Azure PaaS offerings and how they can be leveraged to meet business objectives. You should work with stakeholders to develop a cloud strategy that aligns with the organization's goals and objectives.
- Infra as a Code: Experience with Azure DevOps and infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, ARM).
- Solution Development: You would be involved in developing solutions using Azure PaaS services. You will work closely with development teams to ensure that the solutions are implemented according to best practices and industry standards.
- Performance Optimization: You will be responsible for optimizing the performance of Azure PaaS solutions. This includes monitoring system performance, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing solutions to improve performance.
- Security and Compliance: Ensuring the security and compliance of Azure PaaS solutions is a critical responsibility. You should be well-versed in Azure security best practices and work with security teams to implement appropriate measures and Vulnerability Mgmt.
- Cost Optimization: You should have a strong understanding of Azure pricing models and cost management tools. You should work to optimize costs by selecting the most cost-effective Azure PaaS services and monitoring usage.
- Troubleshooting and Support: You will play a key role in troubleshooting issues with Azure PaaS solutions. You should have strong problem-solving skills and be able to quickly identify and resolve issues.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaboration with cross-functional teams such as application teams, operations teams, and business stakeholders is essential for the Azure PaaS Architect. You should effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with Azure administration, security (including Azure Active Directory, Microsoft Defender, and Azure Policy), and scripting languages like PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
- Knowledge on Azure networking (Express Route, VPN and SDWAN)
- Ensure suitable sizing of solutions, technology fit, and DR (Disaster Recovery) are assessed and accounted for.
- Experience with orchestration platforms like Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, or Service Fabric may be advantageous.
