Your work isn't just a means to an end; it's the foundation upon which data-driven decisions are made – and your lifecycle management expertise will ensure our data remains fresh and impactful.Key Responsibilities:Design, install, configure, and maintain Oracle and SQL Server databases in production and development environments.Perform advanced performance tuning, query optimization, and capacity planning.Manage high availability and disaster recovery solutions (Oracle RAC, Data Guard, SQL Server Always On, Log Shipping, etc.).Implement and maintain backup and recovery strategies using RMAN, Data Pump, and SQL Server native tools.Monitor database health and proactively resolve issues to ensure optimal performance and uptime.Automate routine tasks using PL/SQL, T-SQL, PowerShell, and shell scripting.Collaborate with application developers, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders.Lead database migrations, upgrades, and patching activities.Ensure compliance with security policies, data governance, and audit requirements.Mentor junior DBAs and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.So, if you're a technical enthusiast with a passion for data, we invite you to join us in the exhilarating world of data engineering at Kyndryl. And finally, you’re open and borderless – naturally inclusive in how you work with others.Required Technical and Professional Experience5+ years of experience in database administration with strong hands-on expertise in both Oracle (12c/19c/21c) and SQL Server (2016/2019/2022).Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, T-SQL, and database performance tuning techniques.Experience with Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and SQL Server Always On Availability Groups.Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux and Windows Server environments.Familiarity with database monitoring tools (OEM, SQL Server Profiler, Extended Events, etc.)Expertise in data mining, data storage and Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) processesExperience in data pipelines development and tooling, e.g., Glue, Databricks, Synapse, or DataprocExperience with both relational and NoSQL databases, PostgreSQL, DB2, MongoDBExcellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skillsAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously, while maintaining a high level of attention to detailCommunication Skills: Must be able to communicate with both technical and non-technical colleagues, to derive technical requirements from business needs and problemsExperience with cloud platforms (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Azure, AWS RDS).Exposure to DevOps practices and automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins).Knowledge of other database technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) is a plus.Preferred Technical and Professional ExperienceBachelor’s or master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.Experience working as a Data Engineer and/or in cloud modernizationExperience in Data Modelling, to create conceptual model of how data is connected and how it will be used in business processesBeing YouDiversity is a whole lot more than what we look like or where we come from, it’s how we think and who we are.
