1. Energy Modeling and Analysis:
- Conduct detailed energy modeling and simulation using software tools (such as EnergyPlus, DesignBuilder, or similar) to assess energy performance and optimize energy efficiency in buildings.
- Analyze the performance of building systems, components, and materials to suggest improvements and provide recommendations for energy conservation.
- Collaborate with design teams to develop cost-effective strategies for achieving energy performance goals.2. Building Envelope Assessment:
- Evaluate building envelope system designs to ensure thermal performance, energy efficiency, and moisture management.
- Perform thermal bridge calculations and recommend appropriate insulation solutions.
- Assess the impact of daylight on the building's performance, including solar heat gain, glare, and natural lighting optimization.3. Indoor Environmental Quality:
- Analyze and assess indoor air quality, thermal comfort, and acoustics within buildings.
- Develop strategies for optimizing air quality and thermal comfort while balancing energy efficiency and sustainability.
- Collaborate with architects and mechanical engineers to integrate effective HVAC systems that meet occupant comfort standards.4. Sustainability and Green Building Certification:
- Stay updated on the latest sustainability trends, green building codes, and certification programs (e.g., LEED, BREEAM, or WELL).
- Provide guidance on sustainable building design and construction practices to achieve desired certifications.
- Collaborate with project teams to develop sustainable design strategies and implement innovative solutions.5. Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Collect and analyze building performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and findings to communicate the impact of implemented strategies on building performance.
- Provide recommendations for optimization and propose strategies for achieving future sustainability goals.Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Proven experience and expertise in building physics, energy modeling, and sustainability assessments.
- Proficiency in energy modeling software like EnergyPlus, DesignBuilder, or similar tools.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, regulations, and certification programs related to sustainability (LEED, BREEAM, WELL, etc.).
- Familiarity with building envelope systems, HVAC design, and indoor environmental quality.
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively both independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
