Our client's global presence has enabled a robust and agile supply chain that extends across six continents in over 110 countries.Position DetailsDesignation: Electrical SS (Substation) Design EngineerLocation: Mumbai.Qualification: B.E. / M.E. in Electrical EngineeringExperience: 7- 10 YearsBusiness Unit: Transmission & DistributionJob DescriptionRoles & Responsibilities:- Lead design and engineering for GIS and AIS substations from 66kV to 765kV.- Prepare equipment specifications, layout drawings, and perform critical calculations including short circuit forces, earthing, lightning protection, conductor sizing, CT/CVT sizing, and battery sizing.- Develop and validate bills of quantities (BOQs) and system sizing requirements.- Review vendor drawings and technical documents for accuracy and compliance.- Support the design team in developing SLDs, general arrangements, cable schedules, and other key design documents.- Coordinate with civil and mechanical teams for smooth project interfaces.- Adhere to relevant international and national standards (IEC, IEEE, ANSI) and applicable codes.- Ensure quality, accuracy, and timely delivery of all engineering deliverables.- Provide guidance to the team on technical calculations and best practices.- Engage effectively with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders.Required Skills:- In-depth knowledge of EHV substation design standards and practices- Proficiency in substation layout, busbar schemes, earthing, and cable routing- Experience with AutoCAD; familiarity with ETAP and CDEGS preferred- Good understanding of protection and control system interfaces- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills- Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination abilities- Project management and documentation skills- Ability to work independently and guide junior engineersBehavioral Competencies:- Ownership & Accountability - take complete responsibility for assigned deliverables- Cross-functional teamwork - collaborate with multidisciplinary teams- Delivery Focus - maintain deadlines with high-quality outputs- Cost Awareness - design within optimal budgets- Innovative Thinking - proactively propose improvements and efficient solutionsFor any questions or clarifications, please feel free to contact us.
