- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to assess concept feasibility and define product architecture.
- Design embedded firmware that meets product requirements and guide the engineering team through implementation.
- Work closely with the product management team to translate marketing requirements into detailed technical specifications aligned with market expectations.
- Lead detailed technical planning, including task breakdown, risk assessment, solution development, and mitigation strategies.
- Provide technical direction and mentorship to the development team throughout the product lifecycle.
- Design, implement, and enhance firmware for electric actuators, ensuring seamless integration with hardware components.
- Ensure firmware is scalable, maintainable, and aligned with system-level design goals.
- Analyze and optimize firmware performance to meet or exceed defined specifications.
- Continuously monitor and improve firmware efficiency and responsiveness.
- Work closely with hardware, software, product management, and manufacturing teams to define and deliver firmware requirements.
- Ensure smooth integration of firmware with all components of the electric actuator system.
- Promote a structured, process-driven development approach that ensures clear communication, stakeholder alignment, and efficient execution.
- Follow phase-gate processes and apply Agile methodologies to deliver incremental value throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure all firmware complies with relevant regulatory standards (e.g., FCC, CE).
- Identify and address safety concerns, especially in safety-critical applications.
- Stay current with emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in embedded firmware and electronics.
- Demonstrate a proactive attitude toward learning and applying new technologies to meet evolving product needs.
- Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering or related field.
- 12+ years of experience in embedded firmware development, with a strong understanding of hardware and close collaboration with hardware engineering teams.
- Proven experience in embedded product architecture and design.
- Hands-on experience leading end-to-end product development from concept to release.
- Strong core embedded skills for analyzing requirements, developing solutions, and troubleshooting complex issues.
- Expertise in RTOS-based development with a solid understanding of RTOS concepts.
- Proficiency in 32-bit microcontrollers/microprocessors, including architecture and peripheral integration.
- Expert-level programming skills in C/C++.
- Experience with low-level firmware development for peripherals such as Ethernet, USB, DDR, I2C, SPI, UART, and display interfaces.
- Familiarity with TCP/IP-based communication protocols.
- Experience designing modular, maintainable, and optimized firmware using industry best practices.
- Experience with the full product development lifecycle-from requirements gathering to product launches.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and phase-gate processes.
- Proficiency with standard development tools for configuration management, design, and tracking.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work in a global engineering environment.
- Capable of handling ambiguous requirements and translating them into clear, actionable technical solutions.
- Strong analytical and debugging skills.
- Demonstrated ability to design systems from the ground up or contribute significantly to such projects.
- Eagerness to learn about new technologies and develop innovative solutions to meet product needs.
- Experience with Bluetooth and industrial communication protocols such as Ethernet/IP, PROFINET, and HART.
- Experience with cybersecurity standards like IEC 62443 for embedded product development.
- Experience developing firmware for motor control interfaces.
- Background in digital instruments.
- SAFe Agile certification (e.g., Scrum Master) is a plus.
- Exposure to innovation frameworks and methodologies for driving creative engineering solutions.
