Job Description – Senior QA Engineer (Cypress Automation)Job Location: [PAN India/Remote]Shift Timings: PST/CST 6:30 PM to 4:30 AMEmployment Type: Full-timePosition OverviewWe are looking for an experienced Senior QA Engineer with strong expertise in Cypress automation testing to lead our test automation efforts. The ideal candidate will drive quality strategy, mentor junior testers, and ensure the reliability of our web applications and APIs. This role requires a balance of hands-on automation work, test strategy ownership, and leadership.Key Responsibilities

Lead the design, development, and maintenance of robust automation frameworks using Cypress (JavaScript/TypeScript).

Define and implement QA best practices, automation strategies, and quality metrics.

Drive automation across UI, API, and regression testing.

Own QA deliverables across the product lifecycle, ensuring timely releases with high quality.

Collaborate with developers, product managers, and DevOps engineers to integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.

Mentor and guide junior QA engineers, conduct code reviews, and share best practices.

Perform risk analysis and test planning for new features and releases.

Advocate for shift-left testing and early defect detection in Agile sprints.

Stay updated with emerging testing tools, frameworks, and methodologies to continuously improve QA processes.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

5+ years of professional QA experience, with minimum 3+ years in test automation.

Deep expertise in Cypress for test automation.

Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript (ES6+).

Experience with API testing (Cypress, Postman, or similar tools).

Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).

Strong grasp of Agile/Scrum methodologies, SDLC, and STLC.

Proven ability to lead QA efforts across multiple projects.

Excellent debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills (Good to Have):

Experience with other automation tools (Playwright, Selenium, WebDriverIO).

Knowledge of performance testing (JMeter, k6).

Exposure to cloud-based testing platforms (BrowserStack, Sauce Labs).

Familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes for test environments.

Experience with BDD frameworks (Cucumber/Gherkin).

Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Ability to own QA strategy end-to-end.

Proactive mindset with a passion for quality and continuous improvement.
