Job Title: Process Lead Engineer Job Summary Process engineers at Lam Research India work closely with global peers to support process development, hardware testing, and other essential functions. Their core responsibilities include Collaboration with process engineering teams in the US to support and sustain ongoing projects Providing process-engineering support to engineering teams in India and abroad Performing professional process engineering research, development, and evaluation in support of the company's complex semiconductor capital equipment and systems. Reviewing processing techniques and methods applied in the manufacture, fabrication, and evaluation of products. Involvement may begin at any step from concept & feasibility to full-scale manufacturing. Conceiving and executing projects that involve definition and selection of new concepts, and development of new processes. Compiling and evaluating test data to determine appropriate limits and variables for process specifications. Supporting customer technology managers in the planning, data collection, analysis, and reporting of customer demos to defend existing process applications. Working with suppliers to make sure required parts and supplies are available. Minimum Qualifications Master's degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, or in any engineering discipline with research in thin-film processing or surface modification (Ph.D. preferred) Minimum 4 years of cumulative experience in academia or industry handling processing and characterization tools for thin films deposition or surface engineering First-author publications in peer-reviewed journals, and/or experience in writing successful grant proposals Experience in presenting papers or posters at international or national conferences Preferred Qualifications Prefer candidates who have experience in building or troubleshooting plasma-processing equipment, since this job will require extensive interaction with hardware engineers Skill in developing a comprehensive problem statement, and organizing steps needed to efficiently arrive at a solution, based on incomplete data Demonstrated capability in troubleshooting and solving equipment problems of any kind Excellent interpersonal or people skills, and ability to work in teams Excellent verbal & written communication skills Inclination for independent thinking and tinkering Driven to seek ways to do things better, faster, cheaper Able to operate in a fast-paced, cross-functional, matrixed organization Must be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously and effectively Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
