If you’re up for a fun challenge, we want to hear from you!ResponsibilitiesWork with architects and other stakeholders on polishing requirements, suggest technical solutions, and provide feasible estimatesTransfer requirements into implementation that is focused on efficiency and qualityBe an owner of solutions implemented, actively support them from the proof of concept through production deploymentFocus not only on development but on running software in production. Be proactive in defining monitoring/alerting specifications, enhancing observability and traceability of all production flowsProvide mentorship to junior team members, become a center of competence on every part of the product you contribute toParticipate in code reviews and other efforts to maximize quality of Engage productsBe ready to provide technical assistance and guidance to service engineering teams that answer customer requestsWork in a distributed team spanning across multiple time zonesQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field or equivalent, is required8+ years in an engineering software development role building backend services and APIsProven track record in delivery of event-driven, highly available, scalable, resilient enterprise grade commercial cloud services.Proficiency in developing Java applications. Advanced knowledge of Java Core, Collections, Multithreading & Java Memory Model, Garbage collectionDeep understanding of micro services architecture paradigm, event driven system design, distributed systems, eventual consistency principlesExperience developing REST services: REST manifesto, stateful/stateless services, load balancing strategiesStrong RDBMS skills: writing advanced queries, designing table structure / indexes / triggers, query optimization / query plan analysisHands on experience deploying applications using KubernetesExperience working with Kafka or other messaging queuesNice to have:Experience with Contact Center solutions is a plusExperience with AWS-native technologies (S3, DynamoDB, Athena, EC2) is a plusExperience with data streams processing technologies and frameworks (Apache Flink, Apache Spark) is a plusAbout RingCentralRingCentral is the worldwide leader in cloud-based communications.
