The Dispatch Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end logistics, packing, and dispatch operations of finished tower materials (tower members, stubs, bolts, etc.). This role ensures that all materials are accurately accounted for, securely packed, documented according to customer specifications, and dispatched on time to construction sites, optimizing transportation costs.Key Responsibilities
  • Dispatch Planning & Scheduling: Develop and execute daily/weekly dispatch schedules in coordination with the production planning team to meet customer dispatch schedules.
  • Logistics & Transportation Management: Finalize transporters/trucks, negotiate rates, and ensure optimal vehicle placement to minimize logistics costs.
  • Packing & Loading Supervision: Supervise the loading of heavy tower materials, ensuring secure packing to prevent damage during transit and adhering to safety protocols.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Prepare, check, and verify all dispatch documentation, including invoices, packing lists, delivery challans, e-way bills, and LRs.
  • Inventory Control (Finished Goods): Monitor finished goods inventory to ensure accurate stock levels and prevent loading errors.
  • Client Coordination: Liaise with clients or site representatives regarding material readiness, expected arrival times, and POD (Proof of Delivery) collection.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, train, and manage dispatch staff, loading workers, and helpers to maintain high standards of performance and safety.
  • Reporting: Prepare daily dispatch reports and MIS updates for management, highlighting pending orders, delays, and transporter performance.
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Experience: 3-5+ years in dispatch, logistics, or warehousing, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Industry Preference: Previous experience in heavy engineering, steel fabrication, or transmission tower manufacturing is highly preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP/Tally) and MS Excel/Google Sheets for tracking and documentation.
  • Leadership: Strong team management and communication skills to coordinate with transporters, production, and quality departments.
  • Education: Graduate or Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to resolve operational issues and manage high-pressure situations.
