About Client:One of the leading Manufacturing organizationKey Responsibilities:Raw Material Intake & Management:Oversee the receipt, unloading, and initial quality checks of bagasse from the sugar mill, ensuring adherence to specified quantity and preliminary quality parameters.Manage the bagasse yard layout and organization for optimal space utilization, accessibility, and material segregation.Implement and monitor effective inventory management practices for raw bagasse, ensuring adequate stock levels to meet business requirements.Coordinate with the Cogeneration team and Production Head for timely and consistent bagasse supply.Material Conditioning & Processing:Lead and supervise the bagasse seasoning process, ensuring optimal moisture content reduction and consistent material properties.Oversee the operations of bagasse tilting, application of seasoning materials, and ensure process consistency and throughput targets are met.Monitor and adjust bagasse to achieve desired material specifications for subsequent production stages.Strictly follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as defined by the R&D team for all conditioning processes.Ensure the smooth flow of conditioned raw material to the drying lines.Equipment Operation & Maintenance Coordination:Ensure the safe and efficient operation of all yard equipment, including loaders.Implement and oversee daily equipment checks and minor maintenance activities.Maintain the yard in shape to aid the bagasse seasoning.Quality Assurance & Compliance (Initial Stages):Work closely with the Quality team to ensure raw material and pre-processed bagasse meet initial quality specifications.Obtain temperature and moisture details using sensors and accurately report this data to both the Production and Quality teams.Support sample collection and preliminary testing for bagasse at various stages within the yard and conditioning area.Team Leadership & Safety:Lead, train, and manage a team of yard operators and contract workforce, fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and accountability.Ensure strict adherence to all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) guidelines and standard operating procedures (SOPs) within the yard and conditioning areas.Conduct regular safety briefings and promote safe working practices.Process Optimization & Reporting:Identify opportunities for improving efficiency and optimizing processes within yard operations and material conditioning.Track and report on key metrics such as raw material intake, seasoning time, processed material volume, and equipment uptime for the yard area.Provide regular reports to the Production Head on yard activities, inventory status, and material conditioning performance.Follow the Standard Operating Procedures as per R&DTo obtain the Temperature and Moisture details with the help of sensor and report back the data to the Production and Quality team.Qualifications:Experience: 5-10 years of experience in managing yard operations, material handling, or initial processing in manufacturing, agro-processing, or similar industrial environments.Industry: Agri-tech / Bio-based Inputs / process industries involving bulk material handling.Educational Background: Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production, Agriculture, or a related field.Location: Pugalur (Karur)
