A Mechanical Head in the Power department of an integrated steel plant is responsible for overseeing all mechanical maintenance and engineering activities related to the power generation and distribution systems within the plant. This includes ensuring the reliable and efficient operation of equipment like turbines, boilers, generators, and associated auxiliary systems, as well as managing a team of mechanical engineers and technicians.Key Responsibilities:Maintenance Management:Planning, organizing, and executing preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs for all mechanical equipment in the power plant.Equipment Reliability:Ensuring the availability and reliability of power generation equipment by implementing best practices in maintenance and troubleshooting.Technical Expertise:Providing technical guidance and support to the maintenance team, resolving complex mechanical issues, and optimizing equipment performance.Budget Management:Developing and managing the annual maintenance budget for the power plant's mechanical systems.Safety and Compliance:Ensuring all maintenance activities adhere to safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.Team Leadership:Leading, motivating, and developing a team of mechanical engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.Project Management:Overseeing mechanical aspects of plant upgrades, modifications, and capital expenditure projects.Vendor Management:Managing relationships with vendors and suppliers for spare parts, equipment, and maintenance services.Performance Monitoring:Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) related to mechanical equipment reliability, maintenance costs, and energy consumption.Skills and Qualifications:Engineering Degree:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.Experience:Extensive experience (15-20 years or more) in mechanical maintenance within a power plant or similar industrial setting, preferably in an integrated steel plant.Technical Knowledge:In-depth knowledge of power plant equipment, including turbines, boilers, generators, pumps, compressors, and associated auxiliary systems.JOB APPLYhttp://jobs.vinayakjob.com/CONTACT DETAILS -
