The PPC Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling production activities to transform raw materials into finished sheet metal products efficiently. The role involves managing raw material procurement, creating production schedules (daily/weekly/monthly), ensuring on-time delivery, and optimizing resource utilization to meet quality and cost standards.Key Responsibilities & Duties
  • Production Planning & Scheduling: Develop daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on customer orders and forecasts.
  • Material Requirement Planning (MRP): Analyze Bills of Materials (BOM) to plan material procurement, ensuring raw material availability (sheets, coils) while maintaining optimal inventory levels.
  • Capacity Planning: Evaluate machine capabilities (stamping, CNC turret punch, bending, welding) to balance load and capacity, ensuring smooth flow.
  • Documentation & Routing: Prepare production orders, routings, and process sheets (Manufacturing Advises).
  • Progress Monitoring: Track on-floor progress against plans, update ERP systems, and identify bottlenecks.
  • Coordination: Act as a liaison between sales, production, quality, and procurement teams to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Inventory Control: Minimize work-in-progress (WIP) and reduce slow-moving/non-moving stock.
  • Process Improvement: Implement 5S, Kaizen, and lean manufacturing practices to reduce waste.
Required Skills and Knowledge
  • Technical Knowledge: Understanding of sheet metal manufacturing processes (laser cutting, punching, bending, welding, powder coating).
  • SAP/Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience with SAP (PP/MM modules) or similar ERP systems and advanced Excel.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong ability to forecast productivity, analyze data, and perform root cause analysis for delays.
  • Communication: Effective coordination and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education: Diploma or BE in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience: 2 to 4+ years of experience in PPC within a Sheet Metal or fabrication environment.
